Old Dalby Cricket Coaching Programme.

Commencing on TUESDAY 24^th January until Tuesday 27^th March 2012

Hi All

We had a fantastic day again the weather stayed very nice for us .

50 of our players /parents /villagers turned up to help during the day, we were also joined by Jody and her staff from the Melton Mowbray Branch of the Nat West Bank, Our County Councillor Joe Orson also came along

We were all kept fed and supplied with coffee and tea by our Lady volunteers throughout the day, the refreshments were supplied by Hunters Lodge Residential Care Home.

The tasks we took on and achieved were as follows:

Toilet , Pavillion & Tea Room clean and mop out

Fit a new tearoom Door

Strengthen the verandah supports

Paint the pavilion front /verandah & the tea room The Paint was supplied from the community paint re-use depot at Little Thorpe

Repair and fill in the gaps in the boundary hedge to the school field

Remove all weeds etc around the field

Prepare site at pavilion rear ,cut down bushes etc for pavilion dev.

Artificial Practice wickets and nets re-secure netting,level up matting ,remove all weeds and clean up matting., mark out pitches

Install THE NOEL GREAVES MEMORIAL SEAT , Nolly for many years was our most regular supporter along with his Labrador Dogs Bonnie & Bella, they would locate and retrieve the cricket balls as they got lost during the game.

Extend and join up the footpaths to make access the the ground easier

Fit the canvas,s to the Sight Screens (this job was saved for the Nat West Staff)

Re-Fit the sponsors boards to the fence.

Strim around the boundary and hedge bottoms

Cricket Square Prep : resite cricket square using pythagorus theorem ( good exercise for our trainee groundsmen) and mark out.

After the work was done our Young players enjoyed time in the cricket nets

It’s CRICKET FORCE SATURDAY 2ND APRIL 10.00 AM, that’s our chance to wake up our ground and get ready for outside cricket! PLEASE COME, MANY HANDS LIGHT WORK! Refreshments available, everyone welcome.

Work in the morning,

Bacon cobs for lunch,

Cricket in the afternoon.

We are delighted to announce the details regarding the forthcoming

Old Dalby Cricket Coaching Programme.

Commencing on Friday 11th February 2011 until Friday 1st APRIL 2011

To be held at :

King Edward VII Upper School, Burton Road, Melton Mowbray.

(Note: Access now via Sports Centre Car Park)

Under 11’s – (Years 5 & 6): 5.00 pm until 5.55 pm

Under 13’s and Under 15 Squads: 6.00 pm until 6.55 pm

Under 17’s & Senior Squads: 7.00 pm until 7.55 pm

*All young people must be accompanied into & collected from the Sports Hall

The cost is £15.00 per programme; payable on the first evening, please!

We are looking for New Experienced Senior players to join our Cricket Club to bring on our excellent crop of homegrown Junior players who are venturing into Senior Cricket

The Senior cricket Leagues we have entered this coming season are

Saturdays – South Nottinghamshire Cricket League

Thursday Evenings – Belvoir League

Winter Nets

Winter Nets start on the 11th February 2011 between 5pm and 8pm at the King Edward School sports hall, this helps with your developing techniques’ for the forth coming season – Ged a Level 2 ECB coach from Leicestershire county cricket will be coaching you. Please contact your manager to register.

Presentation Day

We are hoping to have some initial plans for the latest version of the pavilion available.

Cricket Club Christmas Party: CANCELLED

The Village Hall has been booked for our next fundraiser.

Please put the date in your diaries and pass the date on to friends to enable us to raise some good funds which can go towards the new pavilion for the next season.

Tickets are available whenever anybody is ready to sell, details as follows:

Saturday 18^th December 2010

8pm Old Dalby Village Hall

Dancing to Black Knight Disco

Licensed Bar

£10 a ticket, to include light snacks

Smart Dress (it is Christmas!!)

Anyone keen to give a hand in the organising/setting up please let us know.

We will be holding a small raffle, so for anyone who can get hold of prizes please let us know.
