Dalby batted first against 9 man West Bridgford in a match reduced to 40 overs due to the threat of rain. Things looked bleak when opener Wass went in the 3rd over. There then followed a quick succession of Dalby batsmen getting out cheaply with only Hedley Lovegrove staying to make 46 before being run out. It all looked to be over with Dalby on 104 for 7 when captain Michael Coulter came in and luckily for him and Dalby he was dropped on the first ball before going on to make a majestic 83 aided by 15 year old Toby Smith (51). They saved the day helping Dalby to finish on 263 for 9 in the allotted overs. West Bridgford Legion started strongly with Walters and Magson cruising until unfortunately for them Walters had to retire hurt. The remaining batsmen put up little resistance to the "spin" of Rob Herrick who took 5-51 to leave Legion on 167 for 7.
