Match Report SNCL – Home vs Sutton Bonington II 06/07/13

Sutton Bonington were the visitors on the hottest day of the season so far. Dalby batted first and got off to a good start with Chris Knott (56) and David Greaves (91) racking the score up with Dalby finishing on 212 for 7 after 45 overs. Sutton Bonington got off to a bad start with opener J Scrivin bowled for a duck, the next two batsmen steadied the ship with captain P Hood making 86 and C Hellier (23). This was mainly due to inept fielding and dropped catches which allowed Sutton Bonington to get to 160 for 4; however Dalby's bowlers Joe Gant 4-37 and Toby Smith 1-31 cleared up the tail with an exciting end when a great stop on the boundary from David Greaves caused the batsman to be run out. Sutton Bonington ended on 176 for 10 in 41.4overs. Special mention must go to 13yr old Harry Clayton with his first 2 wickets in the senior game with 2-12
